The Initial Situation
With the goal of maintaining small cable car systems, Ueli Schmitter is always on the lookout for cost-effective, easy-to-install solutions for his Braendlen cable car in Wolfenschiessen.
The Solution
A total of 16 ROSTA SE tensioning devices were installed at the two cable car stations; these serve as current collectors for charging the batteries required by the cable car. The cabin battery is charged at the terminal station in the valley or on the mountain.
Products Used
The ROSTA SE tensioning device is the standard model for tensioning conventional chain and belt drives. The SE element can also be used for compression. The springs are made of highly elastic, dimensionally stable natural rubber and are suitable for ambient temperatures ranging from -40°C to +80°C.
