The Initial Situation
The PELLENC OPTIMUM® carrier is a multifunctional machine capable of performing pre-pruning, spreading, defoliation, spraying, and harvesting tasks. While optimizing yield, Pellenc encountered numerous problems with the PUR inserts, which failed. Due to the increased amplitude and vibrations, the PUR rubber inserts wore out far too quickly. As a result, all inserts had to be replaced—and right in the middle of harvest season!
The Solution
ROSTA was faced with two challenges:
- To find a reliable and durable solution
- To present a solution quickly, as a test campaign was scheduled just a few weeks later
Of the various rubber compounds that ROSTA manufactures, three were selected for testing. One of the three proposed rubber compounds withstood the rigorous test conditions conducted in France, Spain, and Argentina.
Products Used
The rubber quality of Rubmix 10 is based on a high proportion of natural rubber and offers good shape memory, low cold flow, high mechanical strength, and moderate aging behavior.
