The Initial Situation
The stationary screening plant is primarily used for transporting topsoil. During this process, the various soil layers are separated from one another. The constant impact of the topsoil on the screen creates a strong shock, which was cushioned by eight rubber dampers. However, the vibrations were so strong that they were transmitted to the steel structure. Over time, this led to cracks forming in the base frame. Furthermore, the conveying capacity had to be significantly reduced when filtering sticky topsoil with a high clay content, as the dampers were too soft for this purpose.
The Solution
To solve this problem, Mr. Hansruedi Allemann searched the internet for a suitable solution. In doing so, he came across ROSTA AG, which was happy to take on the challenge. Shortly thereafter, the eight rubber dampers on the screening plant were replaced with eight ROSTA AB 45 vibration dampers. Since then, vibrations in the base frame have virtually disappeared, and the entire steel structure is being protected. The throughput of the sticky, clay-rich topsoil has even been increased.
Products Used
The ROSTA elements used in size AB 45 are maintenance-free elastic joints for mounting the freely vibrating vibrating screens in various designs. They support the drive forces in the conveying direction and ensure good linear guidance. The ROSTA AB elements are particularly helpful for quickly and effectively absorbing the strong vibrations at the screen discharge.
